Outstanding, before we knew it, we spent 4 hrs there. Lighting is dim and easy on the eyes. Their menu is a cube with a QR code for your phone phone so its easy to read. The music is just loud enough to drown out other tables but low enough to have a private conversation. Our waiter, Pablo, was quick and very attentive. The food was delicious, perfectly cooked the way we ordered it, and presented beautifully. It was so good I made a reservation for my mothers birthday party. I'll add more photos when we go back when we go back.
5/9/24: Pictures added, updating my previous review. I went for a birthday dinner, got to sample several appetizers, ordered a steak as my meal, and had an amazing dessert. I must say that this fine dining experience was top-notch, the service makes you feel like royalty. The atmosphere is so relaxing, and calm.
Went in by myself without a reservation on a Wednesday night and the manager was very nice and accommodating to me, he let me get a table to watch the sunset while Salvador treated me to 5 star service!! I ordered a tamarindo margarita and I told Salvador to surprise me with the second one so he brought me a cucumber margarita and they both were absolutely prefect. Y'all made my evening and have made a return customer out of me, I will be back on my next trip to Brownsville. Beautiful place with a beautiful view on the water!! Thanks guys!
We went to eat last weekend and the food was superb! The staff very friendly and attentive. We had the grilled octopus which was so good and the Red Snapper and the Canadian Veal which was all a 10 out of 10.

We love Madeira! It is where we go for special dinners, anniversaries, with friends and family. The food is creative and delicious! Last week my husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary at Madeira and it didn’t disappoint. We shared a burrata with roasted figs, a curried red snapper, a Madeira filet, and for dessert we had Cacao 72, plus drinks and wine that were wonderful! Everything was exquisite! The service was impecable and the attention to detail was amazing! The best restaurant in Brownsville!
My wife and I have gone to Madeira many times. It is a once or twice a year type of restaurant for our budget. Typically will save it for a celebration or some type of special occasion like a birthday. It is a little bit pricey, but the quality of the food and the atmosphere is reflected in the price. I have never had a bad or even mediocre meal at this place. Everything they serve from the cocktails, to the appetizers, to the salads, to the entrées, to the desserts is fantastic. You will spend a minimum of $40 a person at this location. But you will enjoy yourself. The atmosphere is very upscale and comfortable. It’s almost like communal dining because you are so close to the other guests and that can be fine or you can make sure they seat you away from that bench row so you’re not too close to other people. There’s also a very nice patio for the rare occasion that there are not mosquitoes or too much wind to sit outside and enjoy. All in all I give this place five stars for atmosphere, food and service. It is definitely the finest restaurant in Brownsville buy a long stretch. People come from all over the valley to eat here.
Had a wonderful relaxing dinner. Service was great, I didn’t have to look for him or ask for anything. He recommended the Lychee martini and cacao dessert, which were both delicious. The food was great, meat cooked perfectly and brought in a timely manner so your table is never crowded. A dim cozy and quiet venue. Will definitely be returning.
